We often get customers who would like to copy DVDs, which is quite easy to do. The problem is most people think DVD automatically means move. DVD is a media format. Just like VHS, cassette, hi-8, etc. Sometimes we get angry calls because a customer purchased a DVDRW and are not happy to find out that can’t copy a movie with 1 click like they can an audio CD. “Copying” a DVDs movie is much more difficult. Mostly because you are not supposed to. There are all kinds of protection, encryption, etc build into movies to keep you from doing just that. Not to mention all the legal ramifications and FBI warning at the beginning of every movie.

Now that we’ve said all that, there are ways to “backup” a DVD movie you own. I won’t go into details here on how you do it, just know that it can be done. The first step is purchasing a DVDRW which is something we can help you with. Teaching you how to copy a DVD movie is something we cant do.
